On A Roll
For more than 20 years, Community Bikes in stern Santa Rosa has served as a cornerstone of Sonoma County’s vibrant biking community, fostering health and connection through the joy of cycling.
Community Bikes mainly operates as an inclusive and accessible bike shop offering affordable refurbished bikes for purchase, along with repair services and a diverse range of accessories. They also host DIY classes and clinics to safely maintain, repair and reuse bikes and bike equipment. Beyond the shop, this nonprofit organization partners with other local organizations to offer educational and outreach programs that cultivate confident and safe biking skills for everyone regardless of age, skill level, or financial means.
Community Bikes is founded and operated by LITE, a local environmental activism group also responsible for programs like Zero Waste Action – Sonoma County and Living Green, which promote sustainable practices with significant outcomes for the benefit of our entire community.

Exploring the artistry of Bonsai at Sonoma Botanical Garden
Sonoma Botanical Garden, in collaboration with the Redwood Empire Bonsai Society, has unveiled Living Sculptures: The Art & Science of Bonsai, offering the perfect spring respite for horticulture lovers.
This indoor exhibition showcases meticulously crafted bonsai, emphasizing the patience, dedication, and creativity integral to the contemplative art form. When weather allows, the garden’s 2.5 miles of paths offer glimpses of full-sized species, celebrating the biodiversity of Asian and California native trees. Bonsai demonstrations, interpretive tours, and deeper insights into care and maintenance will be offered throughout the exhibition.
“We are excited to launch the Garden’s brand-new arts and nature exhibition program this winter with a stunning display of bonsai,” says Executive Director Jeannie Perales. “Bonsai is the perfect seasonal feature for the garden’s unique Asian woodland setting, where East meets West. We hope that guests will appreciate the intricate artistry required to shape these miniature masterpieces.”
Living Sculptures exhibit runs through March 22, 2024. For more information visit, sonomabg.org.
